jul 23 17-267-ps1w A tent on top of Max Patch, a grassy bald mountain located on the NC, TN border in Madison County, NC and Cocke County, TN. It is a major landmark on the Appalachian Trail. It is known for its 360’ view of surrounding mountains namely the Bald Mountains in the immediate vicinity, the Unakas to the north, the Great Smoky Mountains to the south, and the Great Balsams and Black Mountain to the southeast.
