2 interns begin summertime work at the Embassy of Latvia to the USA

On June 3, 2019, two interns joined the Embassy of Latvia in Washington, DC. The interns will have an opportunity to help in every day tasks, find out about the regimen of diplomats and likewise find out more about Latvian-U.S. relations.

Ms Elza Vucāne is a sophomore at the University of Latvia, where she studies global economics and commercial diplomacy. Elza is interested in the manner ins which countries engage with each other financially, and how this plays out in the international scene, which is what drew her to this specific scholastic field. Already Elza was held customer service jobs. Her last job was with a Latvian business Printful (located in North Carolina and California), that supplies services used by eCommerce companies worldwide. She helped customers from numerous nations and thereby got an insight into the world of international company management. Thanks to her language abilities, she has taken a trip to numerous nations to experience their cultures. When traveling, Elza looks for to do volunteer work, as she did last summer season when she was in Washington DC, helping to feed underserved homeowners.

Ms Māra Madara Lūse is also a sophomore studying law for her Bachelor’s degree at the University of Latvia. She has an interest in global law. Last summer she had an internship at the Latvian Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Advancement. She worked as a consultant in the Minister’s bureau. After graduation Māra Madara is preparing to study worldwide relations in Europe. In her leisure time she likes traveling with her buddies to fascinating locations in Latvia.

The Embassy of Latvia to the USA (in Washington, DC) offers interships to undergraduate and college students, along with to those who are recent graduates and want to get useful experience. Internship can also be part of a research study program. Latvian language abilities are an advantage. Strong Enlgish language skills are needed. The internship lasts for about 3 months.
