Besides, it also has own analytics system to generate reports for monitoring the site’s performance.

#3 OpenCart

It is originally written in Perl but later scrapped and re-written in PHP programming language. Being a free and open-source platform, it’s an out-of-the-box eCart, preferred especially by small businesses that do not have enough expertise and technical staff in programming. Besides being easier to use, it empowers store owners to deploy a bunch of plugins to create their site in the most flexible manner.

#4 OsCommerce

It has ample of cutting-edge features that allow any eCommerce owner to build, deck up and run his store with lesser efforts and without any constraints. Top PHP Ecommerce Software

By Aaron Goldberg | Submitted On July 02, 2009

It can be difficult to find good software for running your online business. There are so many shopping carts available that you may find it hard to limit the list of software. Since there are not many reviews available that are not based on biased opinions, it makes the task even more difficult. With that said, here are five steps that will help you find the best shopping cart software for your online business.

1. Narrow Down Your Choices

First of all, you will want to narrow down the list of possibilities. There is no way that you could possibly review hundreds of shopping cart options; most of which would be a waste of your time. You do not want to become overwhelmed by software that would not meet your requirements to begin with. A good way to narrow down your list is to look at prices and features that the software offers. You can eliminate a lot by knowing the features you would require for your online store. This will save you a lot of time since this will eliminate a number of possibilities. Knowing your price range is also a great way to eliminate what you cannot afford. You don’t want to spend time reading reviews on software that you can afford to purchase.

2. Know What Is Important

Knowing what your online store would require is the key to finding the best software. If you know the top 3 important requirements then you will less likely be bombarded with too much information. Once you know what you are really looking for you can start to eliminate the software choices that do not fit your needs. Once you have narrowed down your choice, you may want to contact the vendor about how their software would support the different applications. Many times vendors can lead you to demos that will you show you exactly how the different applications will work for your site. This will save you a lot time.

3. Learn About The Customer Service

It is important to know the quality of their customer service. A good way to test this out is to send an email with a few questions about sales. You will want to pay attention to how quickly your questions were answered as well as what kind of format did they use to answer your questions. For example, did they just use some kind of programmed response instead listening to what you actually needed? You will also want to check out the technical support that is offered. This is a major component in running an ecommerce business.

4. Find Reviews Written By Users

Reading the reviews of actual users is a great way to learn about shopping cart software. Users will often outline the pros and cons of the product for you. This will help you eliminate software that has a lot of negative reviews without wasting much of your time. This is also a great way to find software is highly ranked among users.

Using these four tips for finding shopping cart software for your online store; you will greatly increase the odds of finding the perfect software quickly. These tips will keep you from spending hours researching software that will not work for you business.

Grow by leaps and bounds with software to skyrocket your business (and without hiring your own software development team): online ecommerce php ecommerce software php email marketing software and content management system software by Interspire.

Top 3 eCommerce Tips on Becoming Proficient in Conversion Optimization

By Rosario Berry | Submitted On May 07, 2018

Expert Author Rosario Berry

Furthering your website traffic is a key element, which is required for any prosperous and successful eCommerce online shop and/or business. However, perhaps it’s even more crucial to learn and know how to boost your website conversion rates. Besides, what would be the point of having visitors to your website if they’re not going to stay?

Typically, the most fruitful eCommerce websites are the ones that put the majority of their focus onto conversion rates. When thinking about the average click through rate being at approximately two percent – even the smallest changes can cause a huge difference.

You don’t want to reinvent the wheel, so one good way to boost your website’s conversion rate would be by focusing on what leading eCommerce websites are doing.

Below you will find the Top 3 eCommerce Tips on Becoming Proficient in Conversion Optimization:

1. Provide Category Navigation for Smartphones and Other Mobile Devices. This is most certainly perceived as a best practice, which means it’s not a necessity. However, the majority of successful eCommerce websites have this particular feature in common, so maybe you should consider it a “necessity,” rather than a “best practice… “

You see, category navigation on mobile websites will spotlight your website’s homepage. Rather than simply having a header and a menu – you can also, add item categories, which are displayed on your homepage. This will save your visitors and customers a ton load of time!

As you may already know – the majority of people are doing most of their shopping online utilizing their smartphones or other mobile devices rather than using their personal computers or desktops. This basically means that you need to optimize both mobile and desktop versions of your eCommerce website and soon! Per, Alliance Data – 63 percent of millennials buy things everyday using their mobile devices.

Your mobile version does not have to be identical to your desktop version. However, more often than not – it is advised that you implement categories on your mobile version homepage of your website.

2. Guide Your Customers to Their Shopping Cart When They Click On – Check Out. This is considered a convention and this means that it is something that customers expect to have and see while shopping online. If your website strays away from this convention – it can possibly throw off the entire user experience and result in less sales.

Per KissMetrics the initial step for online checkout processes is where the majority of users and potential buyers are lost or they leave carts abandoned. When you take customers directly to their shopping car when they click on “Check Out” you might prevent the likelihood that a visitor may be lost or a customer leaves an abandoned shopping cart.

For this particular convention it’s required that all buttons on your website that say “Check Out” – take customer to their shopping cart first. eCommerce websites have been doing this since the beginning and therefore, customers know that when they click on that button they will be directed to their shopping cart and not a sign in page. New eCommerce merchants don’t always know this and just how very important it is.

3. Add Prominent Subcategories to Support Navigation. Another thing that customers have gotten attach to is subcategories on menus. It’s so important to visitors and customers, that it considered another convention of sorts. Unless you only have but a few products – is advised that you utilize this convention for best results.

Each category on your website menu should have at least a few subcategories. However, you can go more in depth with your navigational options and make subcategories out of the initial subcategories. The idea behind this practice is simply to make navigation as easy as possible for customers and visitors. An array of subcategories will allow for visitors to find what they’re looking for with just a few clicks. You see, 27 percent of abandoned, shopping carts are the cause of long or tedious checkout processes.

We realize that these three suggestions will take sometime before you can actually implement them, but when you follow these approaches, which are correct, you will take notice of your website’s conversion rate increase. Follow these invaluable eCommerce tips for a successful and fruitful eCommerce business operation!

5 Super HOT Products To Sell NOW | @Beast Of Ecom x Oberlo Dropshipping

this is Harry but you may know himbetter on YouTube as the beast of decompwas poppin cause last year Harry's dropshipping store made over 5 million inrevenue but Harry isn't an overnightsuccesshe earned every dollar of that revenuethrough years of e-commerce experiencetoday Harry will share five productsthat new drop shippers should startselling now and one product to avoidalong the way I'm gonna ask Harry aboutniche versus general storesI'll ask how he markets his products andhow he finds his target customers onlineyou'll want to put Harry's advice intoaction ASAP so take out a pen and paperand get ready to learn so Harry fivemillion revenue is a huge figure but I'msure it took you quite a while to get tothat point right yeah for sure so Ididn't start straight away just jumpingin and spending that amount money onFacebook and generating these kinds ofnumbers I did pretty much start with asmall store pretty much like a lot ofthese viewers you have to startsomewherethe store was small but yeah we kind ofbuild up over time to those sorts ofnumbers how did you get started withdrop shipping in the first place so Ifind out about drop shipping on a forumyou know pretty much everyone probablywatching this is googled online how tofind how to make money online so that'swhat I've done and I came across a forumof this guy who had made about tenthousand dollars online drop shippingfrom Aliexpress and using Shopify I wentthrough the whole thing and then thoughtit was a pretty cool thing too it seemedeasy at the time so I kind of then donesome research into it and startedbuilding my first store from there talkto me about that first store becausethat's the stage where a lot of ourviewers are at how how did that firststore go did you make your first salewithin a week of launching or what no soinitially the first door didn't go to asI planned you knowkind of gets there first or they getreally excited which I obviously donewent thinking I was gonna make tons ofmoney and which put a Lamborghini I wasgonna buy but it didn't go that way so Iset the whole store up and when I startto launch some adverts or we spentthrough about 800 pounds which convertedinto about a thousand dollars or so onlyjust a generate one sell oh my god yesso it didn't go as I thought and Ididn't get a Lamborghini of course atthat time after just women like that howdo you motivate yourself to continue whynot just quit and save your money rightthere because I again I always wanted toeither be one of the two and I've alwayskind of had like a small side hustle soI knew that it was working because otherpeople were getting the resource so Iknew once I had that first sale that wasthe validation that dropshipping worksthat's all I needed I just needed to getbetter as a person at drop shipping so Iknew that it was a platform that couldwork I just needed to get better atthings and that was kind of where Iwanted to be I wanted to be doing thosekind of screenshot numbers so when Ikind of failed I just wanted to keeppushing forward because it wasachievable that's really interestingbecause I know that there's been a lotof studies that show people who succeedwhen something goes wrong they don'tblame external factors they look atthemselves and I heard that in yourresponse how you saw the drop shippingworked and you figured the next step wasworking on yourself rather than blamingecommerce we're not working yes I thinkit's important that you do when thingsare working and other people are havingsuccesses of it the platform or themodels do work you know you just have toget better over time and that very muchjust comes with experience of testingproducts and getting better over time sogradual progression now tell me aboutyour stores that have started to makeyou these multi-million dollar figureshow have you scaled into stores likethat yeah so the first one was very mucha smaller niche store and then obviouslyI came across the general store andthat's what the stores that we'rerunning now that will be the highrevenue numbers are general stores sothat's what we like to think wegenerally tried to keep them on eachother night four to five inches maximumandand we we based them around that andfinal products that fit them to thoseniches and I we you know we run out ofthose that way so that's interesting soyou have a general store but instead offocusing on ten niches you really chooseonly a couple yes so realistically youonly really need you know a handful anditches to make money you don't need tohave ten different niches you can stillmake a lot of money just having threeniches on your store because a lot ofpeople get you know really caught up andpicking a perfect niche but once youhave like three to five that you'rereally good at selling that you can juststick to those ones and pick productsaround those niches that's a completelyunique model from other dropshipperswe've talked to on this show we've hadyou know one product guys and thesestore guys but I haven't really heardanything like this so I'm really excitedto see how this drop shipping modelworks with how you choose products tosell cool are you ready to start talkingabout products okay this doesn't lookvery interesting at all it looks justlike a screw that I could pick up in ahardware store not like I'd have anyidea what to do with it cuz I'm not veryhandy but it's definitely not somethingI expected a drop shipper to recommendcan you explain thisyeah for sure so basically what it is isif you've got a drill or if you've got ascrew that you cannot get out for DIYpeople when they're working on a projectwhat they do is that by these thingshere and then put one part inside of thedrill drill into the screw and then theyturn it back out flip it this way andthen remove the screw that way so it's away of being able to remove damagedscrews okay I think I get it but I'mreally not sure how you would comeacross this as a good product to sellunless you were really deep into the DIYniche and maybe you are yes so we sawone of the niches on our stores is verymuch tools and tools is a fantasticniche it's not sexy right but it verymuch is a lucrative especially when theproduct solves a problem which this doesit's very lucrative to sell productslike this on dropshipping stores yeah Iguess if someone is doing a lot of DIYwork they're definitely running into alot of problems for sure and so if youcan identify what'sthere might be that would really helpbut you're not particularly handy rightnot a solo so how are you familiar withthe problems that the DIY set would haveenough that you can choose drop shippingproducts for yes sometimes you don'thave to know a niche inside out to beable to identify what is a problem forthe actual niche sometimes it's kind ofself-explanatory so like on theAliexpress for this one they hadpictures of it actually in action so thepicture of someone using it it's likeokay if someone I felt personally not aDIY person however if I had that problemI could see that this would fit andsolve that problem so sometimes it's acommon-sense thing let's go into thatother Express page for this now we're onthe Aliexpress page and talk me througha little bit what you saw here as youwere looking at this product that madeyou think I think I've got a winner okaywell first and foremost I always like tolook at the seller ratings so you cansee that these guys are over a 98% sothat's one thing that you always want tobe having a look at and also on top ofthat you can see that they've been inbusiness for over two years so that'svery important to look to make sure thatof course that they are in business youknow and they can fulfill the productwhen you start to scale it on a subjectof orders I see this product has almost2,000 and I know some drop shipperswould wonder if that means the productis saturated yes so some people do seemto look at the orders count as a way ofsaying with the product be saturated orif it isn'tI very much go off if the product youknow fits a certain criteria then youshould still go ahead and sell it now ifthis if you checked on Facebook to seethat this had loads of videos out therethose other people trying to still testthis product and they were from like2016 that we might consider not tryingto sell this product however if we hadones that were you know being launchedquite recently and we may want to giveit a go but it's all about the problemit's all about the products fitting thecriteria of its solving a problem youcan still sell the products I see andthis definitely solves a problem how didyou discover this though so this actualproducts came up onlineFacebook feed and that's one of the wayshow we kind of find products from otherdropshippers I want to challenge you onthat just a little bit when it comes tofinding product ideas in your Facebookfeed because I'll I see in my Facebookfeed is photos of friends gettingmarried and having kids so how can ihack my facebook feed to feed me moredropshipping product ideas yeah for sureso what you're gonna find is if you loginto your Facebook account generallyevery 3 to 5 posts there'll be some sortof advert there now if we're justscrolling down here we can see that thisis an advert from this store here orthis brand or this company here and whatwe want to be doing is checking out andjust seeing how many you've users gotyou can see the shares comments andlikes so it stands out so what we wantto do is show Facebook that we're awe're a purchaser or we're more inclinedto purchase this product right now sofirst things first is what you want todo you want to click on save because wewant to save the video and then what wewant to do is what you can do is like ityou can drop a comment if you reallywanted to what we want to do is we wantto then click through onto the actualproductso we can click on the link Wow okay soyou can see here on this product thatwe're actually on the page now so nowit's just the case of sometimesdropshippers I go to the actual productpage or which is probably the best thingto do yeah but what we want to do justadd something from the store to our cartand of course then initiate the checkoutso if we just add it to our cart just goto the shopping cart and then hit thecheckoutthis is really interesting because Ithought if I just watched the advertsthat would be enough for Facebook tofeed me more product ideas but you'resaying I need to go all the way throughcheckout yeah go through the checkout sowhat will happen is you can you becausethis website will have a pixel on it anda Facebook pixel on it if you get theChrome extension the Facebook Chromeextension then it will show you theactual pixels wait so you're telling methere's actually a Chrome extension thatwill let me know when a pixel is firingbecause of my activity yeah for sure soFacebook have a free chrome app iscalled the Facebook pixel help her andif you install that and have it on yourchrome then you'll be able to see whatpixels you're firing for on each pagelet's do that now okay so I should go tothe chrome app store probably or justsearch if you type in Facebook pixelhelp her okay and here's the Chromeextension here let me just add to Chromenow you can see that it has been addedto Chrome mm-hmm so now if we go back tothis store aha look at that it's got alittle notification you can see therethat we've got the page view and if yougo down to a specific product you cansee that we're being triggered for theview content as well and then of courseif we add it to our carand now what happened is the add to carthas been triggered right so what you'resaying is basically this pixel helperwill let me know when the pixel isfiring but how does that help me as adrop shipper so the more you do this themore data you're giving to Facebook tosay hey Facebook I'm a potential buyerso that way Facebook always gonna beshowing you then stuff because Facebookat the end of the day want people to buyadvertisers products right so whatthey're gonna then do if you go and allthe way through and get an opportunitycheckout you're more likely person tobuy that product rather than someonewho's just scrolling through the advertclicking like and in scrolling throughagain I see so basically we're tellingFacebook I'm totally addicted to onlineshopping show me all the adverts you canand then Facebook as a result show us alot of drop shipping advertisements yeahthat and then through those dropshipping advertisements we canpotentially find products to sell likethis drill bit product exactly thatreally cool that's a really cool hackI've learned a lot with this productalready so I'm really curious to seewhat you can teach us with the nextproduct shall we move on so let's do itokay so it's not product number two itlooks like something else that I'd usewith a drill quit screwing around Harrygive me something different is thisreally something that can sell on a dropshipping store yeah for surethe reason why it is is because itsolves another problem and they're thetwo main cried said well one of the maincriterias is of course the product tosolving a problem and you may not knowwhat this does it at the you knowsurface of things but it does solve aproblem again in a DIY niche what itbasically does is if you have a drilland what you do is you put your drillbits in there okay okay and this iswhere the drill would go you triggerthis to drill so that it spins aroundand what it will happen is it will startto sharpen your job is I see oh okaythat's really interesting okay so thisis a cool product it solves a problembut again how did you find out aboutsomething like this yes so wasn't usingthe Facebook feed to find products whichis obviously a free way there are otherways andpaid tools that you can use to findproducts as well interesting we actuallyhaven't talked a lot about that on thisshow before could you show us some ofyour favorite tools for finding theseproducts yeah for surecool so what we want to do is one of theones that I like to use is Alli sharkand this is basically an ally Expressresearch tool another one that we liketo use is econ current and another onewhich is a good one is so the trend okayso we actually logged in to econ hon canyou tell us what value you find in asite like this yes so basically usingwebsites like this like I've mentionedvery much shortcut at the time to findproducts that may have potential soinstead of constantly scrolling downyour feet all day you know this verymuch helps you shortcut some somethingthat may pass the criterion that youmight want to test quickly so when yougo to a site like this do you doparticular searches or are you just hereto browse their curated selection ofproducts so I always had to go to newestfast again oldest first you may start tofind saturated products but it'sgenerally defaulted to newest firstso what are we liking like to do andagain if you've got any sort ofcategories that you're specificallyselling in then you can obviously choosethose here but me personally even thoughwe are in specific niches I just like tosee everything possible so I'd alwaysleave everything completely open likethis and then just go down the newestones first and then scrolling downanything that kind of catches my eyeI'll then dive into it and see what kindof metrics on there to see if it's worthtaking it a step further and so do siteslike this give you any new data on aproduct or how do they make theirselections of what's trending so whatthey do generally is they'll basic offkind of something cause that's what maybe working out there now so if we scrolldown here we canyou've got like a Facebook ad here we'vegot the Ali Baba link and Aliexpresslink so yeah what we generally do isjust like to see if or not it's got thepotential again so I might log in hereand see okay the profit margin is notenough for me I'll disregard it and wewant to something else that raises aninteresting point profit margins let'sgo to the Aliexpress page for this and Isee that this product is actually $8 howwould you price something like this so Ilike to price things based offbreak-even point so I always like towork out what the break-even point isand then sell it if it fits a certaincriteria then I'll sell it so forexample if I could work out that thisproduct has a break-even point of onewhere I say break-even point I meanbreakeven row us ok return on adspendso if the break-even return on adspendis block 1.5 to 1.7 then I'll test it ifit's higher than 1.7 then it's gonna bevery hard to stay profitable andbreakeven okay you just threw a lot ofmath at us so I'm gonna ask you actuallyif we can do that in a spreadsheet so wecan follow along for sure so thisproduct is eight dollars with freeshipping how do we find the break-evenrows as you say sure so what we'd haveto do is this is really simple this isthe most simplistic way of settingthings up so we've got cogs which standsfor cost of goods and then we've got ourselling price which whatever we want tosell it at which is going to give us ournet profit of course there may be feesin there whatever your fees are is gonnavariable so you can stick that in therebut then it's going to work out thisbreak-even row us here okay so whatwe're doing here is we're plugging inthis information so our cost of becausethere are eight plus or minus any sortof shipping in there and when it comesto selling price I generally like to gooff what I think I can get for it andwhat other stores are selling it for sowith something like this we've just putin for examplet99 which is a very very reasonableamount of price you cannot ship in thatthere gives us this number here which isobviously a take away that and then weget our breakeven grow us so you can seehere this is one point six seven whichwould be something that will be worthtesting why don't you say the range wasagain for the break-even right so onepoint five to one point seven now youcan change around these so if you weregetting the product cheaper you can seehere we get one point two five whichagain is lower but it's better so thelower the better lower the better andone point five two one point seven istotally acceptable yeah so someone plugthese numbers in and it's above onepoint seven what should they do what itwill generally mean is that your advertshave to be converting that kind of atleast 2x to break even so you have tohave super good adverts to sell theproduct and be profitable it just makesthings a little bit more easier if itfits that kind of golden numbers okay sodrop shipper like you could maybe getaway with advertising products with ahigher row ass but new drop shippersshould definitely air towards one pointfive to one point seven or even lowerthan that it's gonna be easier for youto start making ourselves and stayprofitable that's really helpful to knowokay I think I've had enough tool timecan we move on to the third product noproblemokay okay Harry so our next product is Ihave no idea is it a is it like a wizardheight or what is it it's not no sobasically what this is is this a lintcatcher and basically what happens isyou stick this inside of your washingmachine okay and what it will do is itwill click all of the Lyne mostly pethairs and there you can take it out andyeah dispose of the pet hairoh really interesting now I can see howthis solves a problem what you said isone of your criteria but unlike thetools where I know I would target my adsthat people who are interested in DIY Idon't really know how I would targetsomething like this because a lot ofpeople buy lint rollers and other thingsto take care of this problem at adrugstore so how do you get in front ofyour target audience so if somethinglike this you'd be looking to take aspecificangle and the angle that I would takewith this is obviously people with petsrather than people who are just gothairs on their clothes in terms of likelint rollers will be very much goingdown the avenue of people who own petsand got pet hairs everywhere andConnor's want an easy solution to getrid of them can you actually show me howto do thatwithin Facebook yeah for sure let's jumpin okay okay so we are in my ads managerhere coolso what you want to do first andforemost is you'll be creating acampaign now we can just obviously callthis lint test what does the WC mewebsite conversion so that's the type ofcampaign so you can see here we've gotdifferent types of campaigns I have athree traffic page post engagement butgenerally if we're driving people to ourstore to actually purchase we wanted togo in for conversions and in hereobviously you've got your ad set name sowe can just put in here top English I'donly just leave it like thattopping 25 to 65 and then here what we'ddo is we'd have our interest but I'dnormally leave it out of that because wedon't know what it is for us thenobviously we can just put in ourcreative which is just a bridge when yousay top ink is that does that mean youlike to target countries that speakEnglish like the US Canada all that yeahexactly so generally the ones that arespeaking English now a good way to findout how what those are is I like to gointo Wikipedia and just sorry paying topenglish-speaking countries and you cansearch by percentage and anything that'skind of over 60 to 70 percent thenthere'll be the ones that are targets socountries like France and Spain Igenerally don't target to start off withbecause majority of those are speakingSpanish and French but Quinn trees likeNorway Sweden those sorts of countriesare adding as my top English countriesoh really a lot of people don't think totarget those countries but since theyspeak a lot of people from thosecountries speak English I guess thatmakes senseyeah for sure I'm Germanok so now it's time to start pickingwhat our interests are now like I saidwe're gonna be taking a specific angleand our angle we're gonna be looking atfor this product here is people withpets so if you're scrolling down hereand obviously here we'd have in all ofthe countries that are previouslymentioned so again with a product likethis it's very much can be targeted formen and women so we generally just leavethis at all now the edge is like I'vementioned I generally like to go forpeople for 25 and over only because Igenerally find that people below thatsometimes window shoppers so I generallylike to stick at 25 and over and like Imention here now here is our detailedtargeting so what we'd be looking atfirst thing you can do is just targetlet's just say for example we just putin dogs here and there is the interestdogs because here is a very largeaudience size yeah but all you can do isif we hit these suggestions what we cando is we can find different ones whichare related to the keyword dogs so a lotof people like to over complicate thingsbut you know we just don't really try toplug in this here and then go down andsee what ones make sense to the initialinterest I have a question does engagedshoppers make sense because somedropshippers recommend that that beincluded in an interest when you'recreating an audience so if you just gotengaged shoppers and not the dogs inthere then we're just gonna targeteveryone who likes anything but it'sgood to use if you are using it inconjunction with dogs so an example ofthat is is if we click narrow audienceand then type and engage shoppers whatwill happen is you can see it's brungit's brought our audience size down from6-9 million all the way down to 22million well audience eyes areretargeting here so this is a very largeaudience size but anything under 50million is good if you're just startingout I generally recommend anything fromkind ofmillion to 10 million especially with anew kind of pixel but a lot of peopleGermany you don't want to go less than amillion to be honest because there's notgonna be that much room to scale forthat you see so you would use multipleinterests to get this audience to around10 million or so and that would be onead setso we'd have one interest per ad setokay only one interest and that way youcan split test which out of those areworking so an example of that would bewe would have dogs in this one and wemay have you know dog training inanother ad set and then we may have dogfood in another ad set and everyone areadverse like that I see which out ofthose two be ad sets they're giving usourselves would you do narrowing withinthose interests are just the interestseven though that gives us a 69 millionaudience if it was over 50 million arelots of at least flex down okay yeah soit's as simple as thatchoosing dogs as an interest and testingit against maybe another interest likedogs at home yes so again we could dodogs we can have dog magazines but dogsaren't the only pets right so of coursewe want to build up a different ad setssearchers cats maybe you know cat fooddifferent cat magazines and have thoseas different ad sets and we can seemaybe dogs might be working better thancats owners and we can then scale thingsfurther based on which type of peopleare buying the products so do you do alot of research on for example for aproduct like this cat magazines orsomething ahead of time or do you preferto just think of a few things ahead oftime and test them so I generally liketo go off the suggestions on Facebookmainly because Facebook want you to makemoney and that way they know theaffinity scores rather than you knowtaking up a lot of time and going intoaudience insights and stuff like that sothis is very much just a case ofbuilding up different ad sets testingthem out because it's very much liketest stage and then we can go furtherand do a little bit more research goingforward okay but on the subject ofadvertising costs when we werecalculating that row as we didn't have aline in there for advertising costs isthat something that we need to add inthere so you can just work things outbased off that breakingOh us and that very much in a veryimportant metric so if you've gotanything that you've been selling beforewe can have a look and analyze and seeyou know if it done any good or if itdidn't yeah okay so I do I have areusable straw store that I had and Idon't think the ads did too well butlet's get your take on it cool okay soas you can see I ran a couple ofdifferent ads here and then only one ofthem has a row Alice what can I learnfrom this okay so you can see here thatyour brass here was not 0.24 which froman instant glance I'm gonna guess itwasn't profitable right because if thecost per purchase was $63 I can tell youI was selling this for $14.99 okay soright away off the bat this wasn'tprofitable but if we were to work thisout and do a live example then you knowwe can have a look on Aliexpress for theproduct so you can see it's 3.17 and ifwe see if there's any packet so there isso we can round that up and say that'sabout three plus two we can call it $5$5 okay cool so if we put this at $5 andyou were selling it for $14.99 you cansee here that your net profit was $9.99but you needed a break-even rise of 1.5so you need to make 1.5 to be able tobreak even on a product product rightyou can see that yours is not 0.25 soyou below 1.5 meaning you're losingmoney if it was if you logged in hereand this was 1.7 then you'd be makingmoney mmm okay so what this is tellingme though since initially in my pricingI came up with a break-even rose of 1.5it seems like I was pricing it okayconsidering the cost so the problem withmy ad and my product is not how I choseto price the products perhaps but it'smore with the ad so it'd be more withthe advert yeah so I mean we can alwaysmess around with this and say okay wewant to sell it for $19.99 but you cansee that your breakeven Ross has droppedhowever would you really get 19for that small thing is it really worthit sometime you have to take that intoconsideration but very much it will beon the ad front whether or not thatwould be profitable or notI see so what you're really doing istaking this number after you've set yourown price and then you're realizing thatyou need to see this number back in yourFacebook Ads manager to know that you'rebreaking even yeah but obviously thehigher the number will make you money sowe want to see higher than 1.3 but ifwe're at 1.3 we're breaking even we'renot losing money always you know whatmaking money we're not losing money butif you're below 1.3 then yeah we'relosing money we need to make somechanges well it's good to know that myads are completely underperformingthat's why I've got experts like you toteach our audience how to run theseFacebook ads let's move on to our nextproduct sure Harry I don't know whatthis is it's not something you sunbathewith no okay am i wearing it right noit's not actually for adults it's forsmaller kids in children oh okay wellwhat is this so basically what it is isit's something that goes in the back ofyour car and what will happen is you putit around your chair for kids and whatthey can do is they can put food onthere they can put their games on thereand it can basically enjoy themselveswhile in the car trip with their parentsI see I'll kind of model it for thecamera so you can see how that fits onthe car seat and then they see I can seethis being really practical for parentswho have kids that want to play withtheir Legos or something completelyimpractical to play with in a carexactly okay let's take a look at thisproduct on Aliexpress looking at it oneof the things I notice right away isit's ten dollars so it's a little bitexpensive even with free shipping andwith a packet that actually adds twobucks on top making it about twelvedollarshow can a drop shipper find this productfor less so you can always test it atthis price but if it does take offyourself that you can always get abetter price from the supplier how doyou dowell you can do something what they cansurprise can do is they can set upsomething called a VIP link for yourselfso once you're testing it and you'restarting to get some orders you start tobuild some attraction what you can thendo is assess apply for a better priceand what they can do is they create yousomething called a VIP link okay so ifyou've already shown at the supplierthat you can sell this product you canask them for a new price but they won'tnecessarily go back to this product andslash the price yeah but kind ofduplicate it and now the Express justfor you with a lower price and send youthat link so you can still use it withover lo exactly there's some live oneson a Express that we can actually have alook at as well oh yeah let's try sureso if we go to Aliexpress homepage andif we just type in VIP link and hitenter you can see these sorts ofproducts here now some of these productsdon't have any product photo whatsoeverand again if we sort by orders we cansee that some of these just release aVIP on them yeah this looks so sketchyyeah so basically what it is it'snothing sketchy about it whatsoeverthese are all suppliers all greatsuppliers again this one here's atop-rated supplier all it or they'vedone basically is drop shipper hasreached out to them and said I'm sellingthis product you can see I'm sellingthese products give me a better priceand as you mentioned they're not slicedthe original one that created a new linkand the drop shipper can now use thislink at a better price I see so thesuppliers don't want to have productphotos because they're not trying tosell to customers or even other dropshippers with this cheaper price theyonly want this link to be used by thedrop shipper that's already making salesexactly is that relationship between twohowever they can't secretly postsomething on Aliexpress which is why wecan see it using this VIP link searchexactly okay but say I'm a new dropshipper I'm not selling enough to askfor a VIP link is any of thisinformation useful for me yeah for sureso even though we haven't got theproduct pictures what we can do is seeif it's still being sold and againanother thing is obviously you can seethe pictures here so these may beproducts that you can sell but if wejust click on one of these VIP linkswhat we can do is we can scroll down andwhen we scroll down we can see the ordertransaction history you can see thereand we can do is that have a look to seeif it's being sold and now you can seethat this one is being sold or was beingsold by drop shipper named T star stockso it's the same person order in it buttheir dropship in it looks primarily tojust German countries or surroundingcountries you can see the date of timeas well so this was kind of like thethird that we get in orders on the thirdthey were getting some orders on the21st but it looks like they're not kindof using it anymoreso maybe that this product is completelysaturated or the adverse of completelyran out of steam but at some point thisproduct was being dropped shipped bythis T person here it was a winningproduct for these guys so when we searchVIP links we should be looking for thiskind of sign of drop shipping the samefirst letter initial probably shippingto similar countries and so forth yetthe countries could be completelydifferent however the name would alwaysbe pretty much the same so you can seethere that's TT so all its if these werelike tea and then it was someone else itmay be that other people are using thelink but you can see that this isgenerally just this guy so the whole artof this is then we can see what dropshippers are selling kind of because ifwe scroll up here we see there's no realdetails for this link but with that hintthat you just gave us we can look and wecan see okay a bear stuffed dollelephant we can see another bear stuffedand we can see more products so itsounds like if a drop shipper used yourVIP link search and then browse forrecognizable products they couldpotentially find a product that is doingwell with another drop shipping storeyeah it's just another tool in thearsenal to use yeah I'm really curiousabout these reusable coffee podswondering here we go n from Mexico and Ffrom Brazil looks like we've got twodropshippers selling these reusable podsso that would give me the idea as a newdrop shipper that hey if it's sellingwell enough for them that they can askfor this VIP link maybe I could tryselling it most definitelycool before we move on to product numberfive I know you have a product to sharethat dropshippers actually shouldn'tsell so can we talk about that for asecond yes for sure all right what isthis another drill bit or something nothis is actually a watermelon slice thatbelieve it or not so what you would dowas I've not got a watermelon here butbasically you'd run it you'd slice upyour watermelon and I you'd run it alongit and what it would do is we'll cut itinto very fine pieces and I know you cando then it's just empty out into Bowlready to eat okay this seems likesomething that would sell because it'ssummer I know a lot of people want toslice up watermelon so it's easier toeat so I'm really confused as to whyyou're recommending dropshippers notsell this well the reason why not tosell this product is not because of theactual product itself but generally downto you the trend so it would be a caseof this is no longer something that he'skind of had its time and now passed okayhow can people find that out well we canuse something called Google Trends I'veheard about Google Trends but whenever Ihear about Google Trends it's a goodthing it's a way to find things that aretrending so can you show me how to findthings that are not trending or how tosee those warning signs oh yes so if weliterally type in the watermelon slicerworldwide over the past five months wecan see that this product was very mucha viral product something that wentviral and now it's dying off so we cansee here recently this year when it wentviral it made someone a lot of money ifthey caught it on this sort of trend nowas times past of course it's going upand down and it generally looks to be ina downward spiral so yes you may makesome sales but after it's kind if youdidn't catch it on this wave then it'snot really gonna be one of those goldenwinners for you do you think that thismight be a seasonal product do you thinkthere's a chance that it comes back wellone thing we can do is if we just searchfor the last five years and see that itdoesn't there's no kind of consistencyin the spikes so in answer to yourquestion no it looks like it maybe was aseasonal product in 2015 16 and 17but everyone is tired of it by now yesthat's right so say they are looking fora product and you see a chart like thiswhat do you do you do you just startback from Ground Zero trying to findanother product idea so it will be likecombinations you can try and sell it butmy advice would be not to sell it onlybecause it's a very trending productthat has kind of had its time that haspassed so selling these kind of productsmay get you one or two cells but it'snever gonna be one of those productsthat will kind of make it a thousandfive thousand dollars days unless youcaught it at the right time do youalways check your product ideas againstGoogle Trends yeah at some times andthere's another thing that you can do isobviously do a search on Facebook aswell I'm wondering what do you learn onGoogle Trends versus Facebook becauseGoogle Trends shows us how many peopleare searching for a product Facebookdoesn't necessarily show us that no butwhat Facebook will give you is how manywhat sort of videos that are out thereand what sort of content that is outthere right nowand if there's loads of videos that havegone viral and loads of videos out therewere tons of millions of views that hasbeen seen by a lot of people whenchances are probably been dropped by alot of people as welllet's go to Facebook and see if we canfind these ads because the last time Igot advice about using Facebook to findvideo ads it's always about looking atrecent ads but you're kind of telling methere's value in going back further andlooking at the ad performance of olderads yeah let's take a look okay so wesearched for watermelon cutter onFacebook and this is what we're seeingyeah so you can see here in april/may ifwe look down hereApril's around that time I was seen onthe Google Trends a lot of these aregetting tons and millions of views youcan see seven million here we've gotthree million here we've got close to amillion here we've got seven millionhere eight hundred thousand here and wecould just go on and on and on okay thatseems to be a good sign it seems to be agood sign however obviously you'relooking at the Google Trends we couldsee things are a little bit different sothings were viral at some point butthey're not viral anymore so looking atthis we can see that there's so manymillions of views it's gonna be comingto the point where it's kind of likesaturation mode okay so the success ofthese ads is so good that we can kind ofexpect a new drop shipper is not goingto be able to beat it yeah they're notgonna get the performance that theywould get with something cows which isyou know not a viral lish product okayso the whole art of drop shipping isfinding products that are high potentialbut haven't peaked like this watermelonsays exactly if you would have caughtthis at the right wave then we wouldhave been onto a winning productthe trouble is finding no wave is a veryvery hard thing to do yeah how do you doit yeah so one thing you can do it'svery very hard to do okay but one thingyou can do to find the next kind of antouch biggest thing is to start to lockpages which share these kind of viralvideos you may find something which maybe launched soon getting quite a lot oftraction but it's not being drop shippedby people yet or haven't gone viral yetthat way you can try and search onaliexpress to find if the product isthere if it is then we can may be ontosomething that B we're at that peak ofthat trend that's new to me can you atleast show me one of these pages thatyou're talking about so yeah this pagehere is exactly what we're looking forso these kind of pages what they doshare videos they post videos all sortsof different viral things some thingsmaybe products some things may not beproducts but it's a very good way tofind something like you know we're goingback here this is 2017 but you know ifthey put out this and he was on Facebookat the time and seen that these mopslippers were something that was gettinga lot of comments a lot of likes a lotof shares it could be something that wecould find on Aliexpress and give it atest that's a great tip okay I'm readyfor your fifth and final productrecommendation let's go I swear to Godif another drop shipper recommendsglasses I don't know what I'll dohow can these be even more special thanthe other glasses that have already seenother job shippers recommended don't getitokay so let me explain so basically withthese ones here is basically we getdifferent kinds of lenses and the waythat they work is they're very muchinterchangeable so if from one day youfeel like wearing blue flames oh I seeoh so I can completely change the lookof my sunglasses are these gonna comeoff oh they're pretty no they're onthere yeah so they're based on magneticso they've got magnets on each side andthen they've got the little clip okaythe magnets inside the frame are whathelped them stick on and the nose bridgeclip yeah I see so basically I can buyone pair of sunglasses and have fouryeah exactlyokay okay I gotta give it to you now youunderstand that is a pretty coolsunglasses concept I stand correctedokay I want to talk about how you wouldadvertise this though I can see itmaking a pretty good video ad like it'spretty cool but beyond that what do yousay about cool sunglasses so again theproduct sold a problem so very muchagain in terms of kind of targeting forthe product we want to be talking topeople who like to travel a lot youdon't want to have because me personallywhen I travel I've got like three tofour different glasses in my bag so it'skind of much a bit of a headache butwith this we want to be targeting peoplewith backpacks and really showing themthe benefits of just having one pair ofglassesthese very slick slick came in the bagand now we can just change our looks inan instantokay so I can see how this solves aproblem for travelers but I still don'tknow how I would call that out in an adyeah so first thing we need to do isbecause we're gonna generally with thisone these products we're gonna be goingdown an angle of backpackers people whoare constantly traveling so what we wantto do first and foremost is with the adcopy is call them out straightaway sohey do you love backpacking or hey doyou love to travel and then with our adcopy we're very much want to be talkingabout the benefits of the products soremember they're not having to travelwith three to four different pairs ofglasses to change their look and then weneed a strong call-to-action to then getthem to click on the link so a lot ofpeople who tend to put out there ontheir adversities like you know get 50%off today or you know limited stockthose sorts of things on there adversebut me I generally try to just stick tothe attention first benefits and thenthe call to action so then what is yourcall to action so the call to action isgenerally really simple such as orderhere or get yours here that way yes sothat would be it because remember whatwe're trying to do is just get people toclick on add page that is it okay so thethree things to have is call out youraudience be specific describe thebenefits and the problem with theproduct solves and then a really low-keycall to action you know and that willdrive people to the product page Harryit's been great having you on the showI loved all your advice especially thatVIP link hack it's so cool before I letyou go one question what is one piece ofadvice you would give new dropshippersokay so what I would say is just stay inyour lane and what I'll generally meanby that is just stay focused to whatyou're currently doing and just show upevery single day it's very easy to getdistracted by what other people aredoing sometimes you know they may bedoing better results than you but at theend of the day it doesn't matter it's ait's a marathon it's not a race you'llget there just turn up every single dayand just stay in your name that'sawesome advice and also if people wantto follow up with
