I thought I’d try a product picture today. What else to shoot but a beer from my favourite local brewery! A belle dame resting in her petty coats! There was a technique that I was trying out. I modified it a little too much for it to be fully successful but it’s a good first try. I would have liked to have done more of a composite to eliminate the effect the black tulle had on the bare sections of can. And I would have liked to spray the can down with a water/glycerine mixture… but alas the misters are all full of cleaning products right now and I’m not prepared to empty those. Besides no glycerine either! I guess it’s time to have a beer!

Shot with a Nikon D610 and an old Micro Nikkor 55mm from the 1970’s. Lit with two speed lights diffused though translucent nylon from directly above and below the can. I ended up wrapping the nylon around the can as much as I could to try and extend the highlights but the black tulle the can was sitting in sucked up a bunch of that around the sides. Triggered with Pocket Wizards. Processed from raw in Capture One then in Photoshop.
