Product Shot

Posted by Ian A. Fraser

This is what I shoot with most of the time. I was bored yesterday so set up this “product shot”. I used a Cameron digital photo box with 2 x 500w photo lights reflecting off umbrellas at an angle on each side. A round reflector at the top, and (of course) a tripod. Unfortunately, I had left the camera I used to shoot this at iso 1600 from a previous session and didn’t discover so until after I’d already put everything away, (duh!) so the shot is a bit grainier than it should be. I took the shot with a Canon 300D, 1600iso (see duh! above) at f16 using a Sigma 50mm f2.8 DG Macro lens. This camera as you see it here, is what I take with me practically everywhere. It’s a Canon 400D, with a battery grip attached and a hand strap, using a Sigma 18-200 f3.5-6.3 DC lens. The tripod head connector can be seen at the bottom.
