Animation I produced a marketing project called” Samba Parade “for the film RIO launched on April 2010 home of Blue Sky Studios/20th Century Fox.
THE PROCESS
As soon as I was finished with my shots for the motion picture “RIO” I got into this marketing project called “Samba Parade”. The concept was easy, the character had to dance Samba while passing in front of camera from left to right and then in some point stop facing cam in a cool present (and then get out of screen fast again). If I ´ m not wrong they gave me like 15 days to finish the whole animation, weeee!:-RRB-.
Make a character dance it ´ s always hard in animation, you have to deal with a lot of things like physics, timing, rhythm, texture, and so on. plus it needs to be fun to watch for the audience!
First off I took some recommendations from professional Samba dancers from internet and some referral of myself attempting to dance Samba in an amusing way. After that I started seeing the videos once again and again trying to find what I wanted. Once I selected the videos that I liked the most I started sketching the key poses attempting to adjust them for the character Blu, because he ´ s a bird, not a human. After that it was time to begin working the animation in the computer system.
I have to state that in animation you always work with a group, and think me, it ´ s the only method to get the very best outcomes. For this animation I had the assistance of the talented Animation Manager Melvin Tan and Director of Marketing Nick Cogan. Thank you for the aid people!
The animation was on TV often, even throughout the Final of the Super Bowl 2010! YAY!
Enjoy!:-RRB-.
